No School May 26 & 27
Since we have not had to cancel school due to inclement weather, there is no school on both May 26 (Memorial Day) and May 27, which was reserved for an emergency weather makeup day. Please note: No school also means there will be no childcare or preschool.
State-recognized schools
We are excited to announce that Washington state has recognized four schools in the Sumner-Bonney Lake School District for student growth for all students, achievement in English Language Arts and Math, and closing gaps for English Learners as part of the Washington School Recognition Program for the 2023-24 school year. These recognitions are a reflection of the hard work and dedication by our staff to know, value and support every student.

Register for kindergarten
Do you know a child who will be five years old on or before Aug. 31? Kindergarten registration is now open for the 2025-26 school year.

Beginning May 1, 2025, the district will begin using a new online facility request system called FMX.

At Emerald Hills Elementary, students in the unicycling club are mastering balance and perseverance—some even riding 5-foot unicycles.
